Monday June 29th

Papaw Heimansohn came over today and helped us stamp your little feet with black ink. Now we will be able to see how small you were when you are a tiny baby only a 10 days old. He also decided to take some pictures of me holding Chloe. She was sleeping peacefully in her bassinet until I picked her up, then she got a little angry with me and I had to try and comfort her.....

Saturday June 27th

Look at my little ladies here, Lex is looking fabulous as Chloe is only 8 days old. Can you believe how fast she is growing?

Dear Chloe, your mom and I can't believe you have been with us for over a week now. We are so excited to see you grow and you have changed so much already. Every time you smile in your sleep we are close with the camera, every time you move your little arms and legs and want to be fed we are close with the camera, and every time you do that little wincing sound right before you start eating Lex and I are close to each other and just laugh and smile at you. You just don't know how much joy you have already brought to our little family and how much more you will inspire. Lex and I are very fortunate to have such an awesome and lovely baby like you.

You have slept through the entire night for three nights now, something we didn't think would happen the first few nights we shared with you. Now you are awesome at sleeping and Lex and I can't believe it. We love you more than anything little lady and can't wait to see you experience life and love.

You are getting so big now and starting to hold up your little head all by yourself. I love it when I am holding you upright against my chest and you tilt your little head back to look up at me and your surroundings. I see such wonder and amazement in your eyes and can't wait until you start recognizing people by sight and not just sound.

Thursday June 25th

Chloe is already starting to grow up on us. Today her little cord fell off revealing a tiny bellybutton. We can't believe it has almost been a week since Chloe was born! Good thing we are taking lots of pictures of her (Doug has taken over 900 pictures so far). I love these pictures....

I (Doug) took these pictures of her while I was holding her early in the morning. Next to our bedroom window so the side lighting effect was really cool when she was smiling.

Day 5 Already??????

We can't believe it has been 5 days already since we had our little Chloe. Time goes by so fast. We had our newborn screening and she is already up to her birth weight again. She has been eating really well and sleeping good for the most part. She kept us up last night again, but that is normal at this age.
She kept us well entertained yesterday when she pooped on Pa (Lex's Pop). We just took her diaper off when Pa was holding her and she had an explosion on him! We also got a kick out of her when she started smiling in her sleep.

Lex and I are so crazy about our little girl already, we didn't realize you could love someone so much even though you only know them for 4 days now! Every time she is sleeping, eating, moving; we want to take a picture of her. I can't seem to get enough of them. She is everything we ever hoped for in a little baby girl and we love her more than anything.

Last night we changed her diaper and before we could put the new one on her she pooped all over the place. To us it was really hilarious, some people would probably think it was bad, but we loved it. After all we have been through in the last four years with Lex's health this is the best blessing we could ever get. Nothing can take that away from us now. In fact last year at this time we were at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, so this contrast in life is overwhelming and unending for us.

June 19th 2009 @ 6:19pm we welcomed our first baby girl into our family! She is tiny at just 6lbs 5 ounces and 18.5 in long. Lex was such a strong woman during childbirth, I knew she could do it. Enjoy some early pictures of our beautiful little girl. And she has a full head of black hair!!!!!

Our yet to be named baby girl less than 30 minutes old.
Look at her little newborn foot, isn't it crazy how long her toes are?

And here is the new momma enjoying her new baby, can't believe she looks that good after giving birth only minutes before. Another pic of our baby only minutes old.And here is one of our first family pictures about 3 hours after birth.

NESTING
Doug has been nesting for at least two months now.
He is cleaning the car in this pic. He has been working
in the yard like a maniac, but by far the craziest task he
has taken on was roofing the entire house and extra garage
in one weekend! I told him we would have to have a baby
at least every few years, so we could get a ton of work done
on the house!!!
