Whoa Nelly!!!

Slow down girl! I went through Chloe's toys last night and put away all the "baby" toys that she is not interested in anymore.  I just cannot believe that she has already grown out of "baby" toys.  Now she is much more interested in door hinges and trash cans.  Wow, time is flying by.  It is crazy, we get so excited when she learns something new, but at the same time there is a little sadness that she is growing up so, so fast.  I think it is an appropriate time for this little poem that I have heard my Mom recite several times throughout the years.

Dusting and cleaning can wait for tomorrow.
Because, babies grow up, much to our sorrow.
So, calm down cobwebs and dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Splashing Rules!!!!

Chloe discovered the joys of splashing during her bath at Mamaw and Paw's tonight.  She thoroughly soaked the floor and counters.  As you can tell by the photos, she was so excited.  It is also obvious that BearPie is definitely not missing any meals.  She is looking pretty hefty in the last photo.
On another note,  when Mamaw's cats comes over to visit Chloe, she says gee-gee.  We think she is trying to say kitty-kitty.    Doug is less than thrilled that one of her first words happens to be kitty!!!

Who Knew

Oh my gosh! The funniest thing just happened.  We are over at Mamaw and Paw's house and Chloe was standing up by the foot-stool (like she always is nowadays).  Their cat Newt walked by and Chloe grabbed onto to her tail.  The cat jumped up on the arm of the couch and Chloe must of had a tight grip, because she literally came off the ground with the cat!!!  Chloe quickly crashed to the ground when she let go.  Mom and I were in a hysterical laughing fit. I had to get it together so I could pick the poor child up off the floor. Well, we had to call Paw and Poppa to tell them of the event, but we were both laughing so hard, we could hardly get the story out.  Who knew a darn cat's tail was that strong? Wish we had that on video. Oh man, that was so funny.  I swear belly laughs like that make at least a few minutes younger. Whew, good times.

I am going to post a photo of Chloe with that darn cat, if I can get the both of them to sit still.

Chloe playing with her turtle

Chloe has figured out how to make her turtle vibrate and thinks it's the bees knees.

Oh my!!!

We let Chloe have full reign over her breakfast yesterday.  Oh my was it fun, especially if you were on the clean-up-crew!  She dumped the cereal all over her lap and everywhere else for that matter.  I actually noticed some cereal on the wall this morning :)  Well, she had fun and we had fun watching her.  All is well that ends well, right?

Happy Birthday Lex

We went out to Bando on Saturday night for my birthday.  It is a little hole in the wall restaurant (best places to eat, if you ask me).  It is a Korean Bar-B-Que joint.  It is so, so tasty.  As you can see there is a grill in the center on the table.  They bring out hot coals and place them in the grill and then you cook the meat and veggies yourself.  They also bring out several little dishes of kim-chee, fishcakes, daikons, korean dumplings, seaweed salad, etc.  It was awesome.  Oh yeah, almost forgot, Chloe had her first taste of ice cream.  We aren't really into to giving her anything with sugar, but we let her have a little taste of our green tea ice cream.  Of course, she loved it, and wanted more.  She kept doing the sign for "more".  We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to back to Bando (hint, hint).

Look Mom No Hands!!!!

Chloe when straight from crawling to standing up on her own in one week.  She gets so excited when she does it.  She claps her hands and smiles at us.  She now is trying to do patty cake and itsy-bitsy spider while she standing.  We are having to kid proof the house a lot more these days.  Chloe is making her way around all the furniture and never stays still, except while taking one of her very short 20 minute naps.

A scholar already ;-)

We have had this desk for probably 5 years or so.  Anytime we had any kiddos at our house, we would drag it out of the garage.  I decided to give it a go on Chloe and she loves it.  She will sit here for around a half an hour at a time playing with all the letters and matchbox cars.  Her little legs don't even come close to touching the ground, so she has had a few tumbles, but Momma's kisses and hugs quickly remedy that :)
