Happy BIrthday BearPie
Little Miss Chloe turned 1 year old last Saturday. We splashed around in the pool all day and enjoyed a raw peach pie with young coconut whipped cream on top. Doug cracks me up and this is why: he got up early, went to the farmers market, and surprised Chloe with a big bag of green beans (her favorite) on her birthday :)

Anna's Photo-shoot
My cousin Anna was here visiting this week, so you know we had to do a little photo shoot with her. It was so much fun. She was really into it and as you can see she is absolutely gorgeous. There were so many great shots, it was hard to choose which ones to post. Mom did an awesome job with her hair and make-up and helped with the posing. I am so proud of these photos, I can hardly stand it!

Thursday Evening
I love this photo of Chloe putting rocks in the Indian girl's basket.
Mamaw and Chloe heading to the pool.
This moth has taken up residence on Mom and Pop's front porch . It is huge, around six inches wide. We think it was a tobacco caterpillar.
The pool is ready for action. Mom, Chloe, and I got in yesterday and it was FREEZING!!! Although Chloe didn't seem to mind too much.
I think cacti have the most magnificent blooms of any plant.
Bloggin bout BM's
Chloe started using the potty two days ago!!!! This morning I was changing her diaper and she pointed to the bathroom, so I sat her on the potty and she went #1 and #2, then we waved bye-bye and flushed it down. We are so proud of her and excited that she is getting started on potty-training. Later on today, I discovered her in the bathroom holding her baby on the potty and they were having quite the conversation. Yay potty party!!!!

A long awaited camping trip
Doug and I haven't been camping in years and have been talking about how we need to take Lil Miss Chloe and show her what the great outdoors is all about. We went camping at Monroe Reservoir last weekend with our friends Brook, Corey, and Lil. Our campsite was only accessible by water and we had to pack everything we needed onto Corey's fishing boat. It was a tight squeeze, but we made it. The campsite was back in a cove and very private. We probably only saw around 10 other people at the very most all weekend. The lake was very warm, around 85 degrees, so you better believe we took a few dips with the girls. Brook and Corey's friends Jeremy and Jennifer joined us on Saturday night and of course we had to take a very quick late night dip in the lake. The girls were little camping pros and slept like logs. I think the frogs and crickets lulled them off to sleep. The boys enjoyed fishing and caught a huge catfish (around 18 pounds). We had catfish tacos with homemade salsa at night and banana-cinnamon-pecan pancakes in the morn. On Sunday morning Chloe woke up early and we were laying in the tent having our morning talk when Doug said "BearPie guess what Poppa brought for you?". He reached into his backpack and pulled out one of Chloe's little baby-dolls. She was so excited to see her nay-nay and I thought that it was one of the cutest things he has ever done. He actually took the time to find one of her babies, bring it along in his bag, and surprise his baby girl.
We had a great time. It is always nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern technology for a few days, but man does that warm shower and pillow-top mattress feel good when you get back home :)
