Official Title

Little Miss Chloe makes my day everday, but today she really, really made it. I was doing dishes this morning (my lot in life), Chloe crawled over to me and pulled herself up by my pant leg and was kinda fussing.  I looked down at her and smiled, but didn't pick her up.  She fussed a little more and out of her little mouth came the word "Mommy".  I couldn't believe it! I said it back to her and said it again "Mommy".  We had to call Poppa and I gave it another try.  I asked her to say "Mommy" to Poppa, and amazingly she did.  So, it's official, I'm "Mommy".

These photos are of Chloe and I doing laundry this morning.  We were having way too much fun doing housework.

Spring has Sprung

Whoa!!! That is Crazy!!!

Its a Nay-Nay Day

Chloe has a new love, her babies.  She has two baby dolls and she calls them Nay-Nay.  We think she is trying to say baby.  It is so cute, she holds them by their hands and talks to them and tells them stories.  Doug tells her she is a good Momma.  First thing this morning she was holding onto her balloon and her baby and quietly whispering, baaooon, nay-nay, baaoon, nay-nay.  It was adorable.

Sundays are good for dancing

We spent last Sunday dancing at Mamaw and Pa's place.  Doug had a ton of studying to do for his Sequel Server test, so we needed to let him be.  By the way,  he did pass on his test on Tuesday.  Good job babe, we are proud of you as usual.

"These booties are made for walkin and thats just what they'll do"

Chloe took her first steps on her own two days ago.  I told her to come to Momma, and SHE DID!!! I was so suprised that I screamed, it scared her, and she started crying :)

Baaa-oooon!!!

Mamaw got Chloe a few helium balloons a few days ago.  She loves them.  We were playing with them this morning and she said baaa-oooon.  I actually got in on video, yeah!!!  It is so cute.  I will be downloading it later,  it takes for-ev-er.

Happy St. Patty's Day

Nobody's pinching this girl on St. Patty's Day.  We made extra sure of that with the green butterfly hair-clip.

An evening at the park

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Little Miss has an opinion about everything all of a sudden!  She has been babbling like crazy in the last few days.  She now says gish (fish), last night she said doggy when we were reading a book called "Can you bark like a dog?", and today I was teasing Doug and telling him to stop, Chloe looked at Poppa and said "stop".  We were both so suprised that we just stared at eachother in amazement.

Chloe has been teething for the last few days, so she has been more fussy than usual.  Which is weird for us, because this kid hasn't really cried at all,up until now.  She has been sleeping a lot and running a fever off and on.  She wants Momma to hold her at all times and gets incredibly insulted if I leave the room.  We will be glad when her teeth finally break through and I am sure she will too.

I cleaned up Chloe's room today and hung up her butterfly yet again (she likes to pull down from the ceiling, so Poppa and I are in charge of the flying from now on). I put away so much of stuff that she has grown out of already along with the boppy and other miscellaneous baby gear.  It is just so crazy to me how quickly she moves from one stage to another.  It seems like just yesterday she was born and now she is going to a whole year old in just a few short months.

 CA-RAZY!!!!

Just another fav of our girl.

An Old Friend and An Absolutely gorgeous day!

My friend Tiff and her son Dillon came over to hang out today.  They are in town from Iowa.  We took a nice long walk to the woods.  It was so nice and warm out.  Chloe was very interested in little Dillon.  She just couldn't get enough of him and even planted a few kisses on him.  It was a nice day reminiscing with an old friend and laughing at our babies.

And today Paw's heart melted

Chloe said Paw this morning.  Mamaw was over and she was showing Chloe Paw's I.D. card for the Aquatic Center and clear as day Chloe said Paw, Paw, and when I asked her who that is, she pointed right at his picture and said Gaw (which is close to Paw).

P.S.  I am aware that Paw should probably be spelled Pa, but since Chloe is our baby BearPie, Paw works well, at least we think so.

Whoa Nelly!!!

Slow down girl! I went through Chloe's toys last night and put away all the "baby" toys that she is not interested in anymore.  I just cannot believe that she has already grown out of "baby" toys.  Now she is much more interested in door hinges and trash cans.  Wow, time is flying by.  It is crazy, we get so excited when she learns something new, but at the same time there is a little sadness that she is growing up so, so fast.  I think it is an appropriate time for this little poem that I have heard my Mom recite several times throughout the years.

Dusting and cleaning can wait for tomorrow.
Because, babies grow up, much to our sorrow.
So, calm down cobwebs and dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Splashing Rules!!!!

Chloe discovered the joys of splashing during her bath at Mamaw and Paw's tonight.  She thoroughly soaked the floor and counters.  As you can tell by the photos, she was so excited.  It is also obvious that BearPie is definitely not missing any meals.  She is looking pretty hefty in the last photo.
On another note,  when Mamaw's cats comes over to visit Chloe, she says gee-gee.  We think she is trying to say kitty-kitty.    Doug is less than thrilled that one of her first words happens to be kitty!!!

Who Knew

Oh my gosh! The funniest thing just happened.  We are over at Mamaw and Paw's house and Chloe was standing up by the foot-stool (like she always is nowadays).  Their cat Newt walked by and Chloe grabbed onto to her tail.  The cat jumped up on the arm of the couch and Chloe must of had a tight grip, because she literally came off the ground with the cat!!!  Chloe quickly crashed to the ground when she let go.  Mom and I were in a hysterical laughing fit. I had to get it together so I could pick the poor child up off the floor. Well, we had to call Paw and Poppa to tell them of the event, but we were both laughing so hard, we could hardly get the story out.  Who knew a darn cat's tail was that strong? Wish we had that on video. Oh man, that was so funny.  I swear belly laughs like that make at least a few minutes younger. Whew, good times.

I am going to post a photo of Chloe with that darn cat, if I can get the both of them to sit still.

Chloe playing with her turtle

Chloe has figured out how to make her turtle vibrate and thinks it's the bees knees.

Oh my!!!

We let Chloe have full reign over her breakfast yesterday.  Oh my was it fun, especially if you were on the clean-up-crew!  She dumped the cereal all over her lap and everywhere else for that matter.  I actually noticed some cereal on the wall this morning :)  Well, she had fun and we had fun watching her.  All is well that ends well, right?

Happy Birthday Lex

We went out to Bando on Saturday night for my birthday.  It is a little hole in the wall restaurant (best places to eat, if you ask me).  It is a Korean Bar-B-Que joint.  It is so, so tasty.  As you can see there is a grill in the center on the table.  They bring out hot coals and place them in the grill and then you cook the meat and veggies yourself.  They also bring out several little dishes of kim-chee, fishcakes, daikons, korean dumplings, seaweed salad, etc.  It was awesome.  Oh yeah, almost forgot, Chloe had her first taste of ice cream.  We aren't really into to giving her anything with sugar, but we let her have a little taste of our green tea ice cream.  Of course, she loved it, and wanted more.  She kept doing the sign for "more".  We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to back to Bando (hint, hint).

Look Mom No Hands!!!!

Chloe when straight from crawling to standing up on her own in one week.  She gets so excited when she does it.  She claps her hands and smiles at us.  She now is trying to do patty cake and itsy-bitsy spider while she standing.  We are having to kid proof the house a lot more these days.  Chloe is making her way around all the furniture and never stays still, except while taking one of her very short 20 minute naps.

A scholar already ;-)

We have had this desk for probably 5 years or so.  Anytime we had any kiddos at our house, we would drag it out of the garage.  I decided to give it a go on Chloe and she loves it.  She will sit here for around a half an hour at a time playing with all the letters and matchbox cars.  Her little legs don't even come close to touching the ground, so she has had a few tumbles, but Momma's kisses and hugs quickly remedy that :)
