Chip off the old block
Chloe trying out her best chipmunk face |
Last spring we noticed that we had a little chipmunk hanging out on our back deck in the morning. Chloe was very interested in this little guy and talked about him often, especially at night, right before she would fall asleep. We would discuss how he was probably curling up next to his babies and keeping them warm for the night. She would usually fall asleep right after that. So, he is back this spring (maybe not the same chipmunk, maybe it is, who knows). We have been putting sunflower seeds and sesame seeds out for him for a few weeks. He will come up to our sliding glass door and fill his cheeks. Chloe sits there every morning and eats breakfast while Chip (she named him) gathers seeds. This evening she put a large pile of sesame seeds out for Chip and later decided that she would lick her face and then stick it into the sesame seeds. She came in the kitchen laughing hysterically. She was pretending to be a chipmunk. Check out the seeds stuck in her nose!

This is what Chloe wears while doing yard work
This evening we were preparing to go out and work in the yard. Chloe came out of her room all ready to go in her white "dress up" dress. She said "Poppa I'm ready to get married". She thinks getting married means she gets to eat cake (Ha! We wish that is what marriage was all about, right?!) Doug thinks she looks like Glenda the good witch from The Wizard of Oz. I agree.

Yum Yum Yum
Hey Y'all
Mamaw, Pa, and our crew took a little road trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee last weekend for our good friend's Mike and Darlene's wedding. It was a great time and soooo nice to get away. We stayed in a cozy condo up in the Smoky Mountains. It was a full weekend of celebrating, swimming, and aaaaaah napping.
